Memories of Socks, a blanket?

We could all discuss why blog postings  wax and wane, and my story may or may not be better than yours, BUT, here we are.
The above wonky strip of knitting is becoming my version of what to do with leftover bits of sock yarn.
If you're a knitter (or any kind of maker) you can count on leftovers that aren't enough to complete
a real 'next thing'.  The  Coziest Memory by Kemper Wray, via Ravelry  or junkyarn.com   will get you the pdf.

Mine began here:
A friend told me, "you'll figure it out"..
I did.  Eventually.

I've placed small skeins of yarn in separate baggies, and will try to work out a 'random' pattern to knit up a smallish blanket.  This will take a while; something for my carry-with-me tote?

Pleaded with a geranium to bloom inside. She did, but she
had to travel quite far to reach the sunshine.    It's been cold and snowy, of course.

Made a simple little upside down cake in my black skillet. Nothing fancy, but quick and yum. I used some canned green-tomato mincemeat for the fruit part, but canned peaches or pineapple works too.  Warm cake after some   soup  I'd stashed  (in the freezer) made a nice supper.
