Easter was lovely, His way is best
The day before Easter certainly finds us anticipating the best day ever, doesn't it?
We know He is alive, He is with us, and we are not separated from Him even as He sits at the right hand of the Father. His Spirit dwells in us and walks daily alongside.
We share this love with others at Easter, and celebrate with flowers, springtime happenings, and delicious food.
The flowers outside RedBarn are lovely...tulips, daffodils, even the neighbors forsythia is abloom.
The Lily pot I bought at the supermarket? Has yet to bloom. Grr. Sorta funny, but it'll soon overwhelm!
Finally started some perennial seed inside, hopeful that they'll take off since the unheated sunroom is warmer now. Certainly will be cost-effective, and since we have several weeks til they can go outside, it
should be fine. Even planted some dahlia seed, though they will take years to get hefty tubers, but, who knows. We started rhubarb from seed several years ago (who knew?), and its doing well.
The old chalkboard was repurposed and set on the front porch.
So far, nobody has taken a 'peep' but me. Ha!
Easter Dinner was yum, traditionally ham, potato casserole, salad, etc, but I did get some gentle kidding with the jello salad. I just may have added mini marshmallows for a certain 5 yr. old..
The blue sweater DID get finished, and yes, it had sleeves. Our other little Miss got her sweater, the pink one below, a couple weeks previously.
Oh, did I mention that the hot cross buns were horrid?! Saturday was a juggling/baking day, and although the cheesecake was YUM, the buns were like rocks....and laying in bed that night, I said,
"goodness, girl, that yeast was OLD?!"
Opened up a new jar, threw the old away..and humbled myself.
Oh well, as long as we are still teachable, there is hope!
(still am annoyed, but soo thankful that it reminds me to show grace to others in their foolish ways, as well....lesson learned, again.)
Next week I hope to start a series on some favorite cookbooks, and show a recipe from each one.
Preview? This belonged to my Grandmother.

Loved it! Many blessing to you both and family ~
