Christmas...filled.
Last week was SO NOT Christmas, but after the wood brush pile burned down
I put my mittens on, found a long fork, 2 marshmallows, and had a moment outside...
then carried the slightly charred things indoors to eat them....
Been to a couple get togethers. Brought a Yule Log, yum! Filling made from last summers frozen raspberries. I decorated the jellyroll type cake with a chocolate frosting enhanced with nutmeg and cinnamon. (a basic jelly roll is easy, and I'm reminded to make one more often). I'd written the recipe inside the back cover of my old blue 1950's version of Joy of Cooking. (love that book).
Today the snow is lovely, the woodstove humming along, the soup on the backburner on the kitchen range, and Angel Refrigerator Biscuit dough in the fridge for later. The dough lasts a couple weeks, and I'll use it on Christmas Eve for Tuna Roll Ups...You probably don't want that link...
Traditions are funny, aren't they?
Been knitting mittens, and settled on a sorta master plan I morphed from a couple of patterns. Sorta like my master socks pattern. Just trying to keep things simple....(been working on these all fall, for the
"do you need these ?" basket I'll leave in the snug.
That way, they can be tried on and hand-selected (chuckle)
some time after the official gift giving season.
Less pressure, all around 😉).
Wishing you a lovely Christmas with your family and friends, and
Filled with the Lord Jesus, our Redeemer and our Savior....Amen.
