Seasons change, years change, He doesn't

Been ages since I sat and blogged.  Seems the last 'while ' was too much drama in our world, so it seemed best to take a break.     However, 'this fall' loudly told me it was time to use my voice and images to help speak some  truth and peace to myself, even if no one reads.  Is that ok with you?

Fall decorations are put away, the first snow has fallen, and all the thanksgiving pies are finished.  And no, there were many pies, and not all for me.... Cranberry Raisin, apple crumb, and squash ( pumpkin sorta).  While many have trees and Christmas things up, I take a slower, more deliberate approach.

First out comes the books and music, then the recipes start dancing in my head.  And oh, I may need to hunt  the yard for pinecones and sticks, and see if there is a door wreath stored away??

The cactus above is actually a thanksgiving cactus. It's gone by now, but I'm waiting on the true Christmas cactus to bloom.

The green liquid in the clear hanging glass is just an ordinary water barometer I've used for ages.  The level of water rises when there is a storm/rain/snow en route.  (But actually, it rises when there is too much baking going on in the kitchen as well!  Help! ) It DOES make me smile though, and the usual   ups and downs of the water seem to predict just as well as the weather apps on my phone..... sometimes better.

In a few days, I'll need to think about Christmas cards, and gifting, and friends, and family and all that, but I SO need to get my heart on track and remember why it's the Christmas season.  If HE didn't come, there would be no reason to look forward to the 25th....or anything else in our future, either here or in glory...  Let's get our eyes back on the Book.   See what God says is going on now, as well as what's in our future. There is absolutely no fear in what is next ..if we are discerning in our understanding.

              'that we may confidently say,

"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?"

Remember those who led you, who spoke the work of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace...'

                                                        from Hebrews 13:6-9

Til  'tomorrow',  D.
